About PJP Business Advisors
PJP are not Pat Pitrone's initials alone. They belonged first to his father — Phillip Jeffrey Pitrone — though no one who knew him ever called him Phillip. He was Jeff. Direct, irreverent, street smart, and genuinely one of a kind. He had a gift for reaching people and was never shy about telling you exactly how he felt and why. He was the kind of man who built things on instinct, on relationships, and on a handshake worth more than most contracts.
Jeff Pitrone co-founded USA Insulation of Cleveland. Pat joined him in 2004. For more than a decade, they worked alongside each other — Jeff as the visionary, magnetic founder, Pat as the analytical, systems-driven operator. They were, in every sense, a yin and yang in business. Neither could have built what they built together.

The Moment
In 2015, Pat led the acquisition of USA Insulation’s long-time proprietary foam insulation supplier and relocated manufacturing operations from White Plains, New York to Cleveland, Ohio. Standing inside that facility, he understood something for the first time.
They had built a vertically integrated business — local service, franchise growth and support, manufacturing, and distribution — that neither of them could have imagined when they started. It took both of them. It took what each of them brought to the table. And it took more than a decade of building together to get there.
Jeff Pitrone passed away in 2017. Three years later, in December 2020, the business Jeff established and Pat expanded was acquired by The Riverside Company — a transaction that validated everything they had worked toward together. Pat has never stopped thinking about what his father started and what that foundation made possible.
When Pat launched PJP Business Advisors, he kept the initials. He kept the colors — the same colors as USA Insulation, carried forward as a quiet tribute to where it all began. And he carried forward the belief that the best business relationships are built the same way Jeff built them — on trust, on honesty, and on genuine investment in the people across the table.
The Career
Pat Pitrone is a founder, operator, and business advisor with more than twenty years of experience building, scaling, and exiting home improvement businesses — and bringing that experience to mobile services operators navigating similar growth challenges.
After helping double revenue at USA Insulation of Cleveland within two years of joining, Pat co-founded USA Insulation Franchise Corporation and led the company's national expansion beginning in 2008. By the time of the December 2020 acquisition, the system had grown to sixty-plus locations across more than twenty states — the largest residential retrofit insulation company in the United States at the time.
Following the acquisition by The Riverside Company, Pat remained as President of USA Insulation and was later promoted to Group President of Threshold Brands, a multi-brand home services franchise platform where he supported eleven portfolio brands across growth strategy, franchising, operations, M&A integration, and organizational development.
He left that world to do the same work at a more personal scale — working directly alongside home improvement and mobile services owners at the inflection points where the right guidance makes the difference between a business that grows, scales, and exits well, and one that quietly underperforms its potential.

Four Client Lanes.
One Coherent Practice.

Home services business advisory
Home improvement and mobile services owners who are building, scaling, or optimizing their operations and need a structured outside perspective, fractional operating support, or advisory guidance to reach the next level — and the exit they have earned.
Fractional Operating Partner
The bridge between your board and your C-suite — when ownership expects more than the leadership team is delivering. Pat serves as the structured operating presence that translates board priorities into execution, closes the accountability gap, and gives both sides the confidence that the business is moving in the right direction.
ETA (Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition) Advisory
Searchers and acquisition entrepreneurs targeting home improvement and mobile services businesses, navigating due diligence, post-acquisition integration, and early operational leadership. Pat's active advisory work includes live ETA engagements, bringing an operator's perspective to professionals stepping into someone else's creation.
Family Business Transition
Family-owned home improvement and mobile services businesses navigating generational transition — whether preparing the next generation to lead, structuring the handoff from founder to successor, or helping the inheriting generation grow beyond what the founder built. This is the most personally resonant lane of the three. Pat has lived it on both sides of the generational equation.
How Every Engagement Begins
Every engagement begins with a conversation — a thirty-minute call to understand your business, where it stands, and what you are trying to accomplish. From there, we conduct a structured assessment of the business — operational, financial, and organizational — and report on what we find. Together, we identify priorities, rank them, and build a plan to address them. If there is a fit, we engage — and the work begins immediately.
The Approach
Pat's approach is grounded in one conviction: the best advisors have done the work themselves.
He has built from the ground up, scaled through franchising, navigated a private equity acquisition, and led a portfolio of businesses through the complexity of professional management systems. He has built. He has scaled. He has exited. And he has stood on the other side of the table — inheriting a founder's legacy and growing it into something neither generation could have built alone.
That experience — personal and professional — is what he brings to every engagement. Real-world experience, not theory. Helping owners and operators in home improvement and mobile services move from working hard to working on the right things — and toward the businesses they are capable of building.
Personal
Pat lives in the Cleveland area with his wife and two sons. He remains actively involved in the entrepreneurship community, mentoring founders and leadership teams across Northeast Ohio. He is currently developing advisory relationships in the US and Ireland, where family business culture runs deep and where he has maintained prior business relationships going back to his USA Insulation years.
Start the conversation
If you are building a business, acquiring a company, or passing a legacy forward — and you want a partner who has done all three — the next step is a conversation.
